I work in higher education, which means my job changes when the academic year ends. Whereas during the academic year I spend a bunch of time meeting with students and going various places on campus, these days I’m doing a lot of sitting at my desk with SPSS, Google Scholar, and 45 Word and Excel documents open. A lot of throwing a ball against the wall outside the campus center while I think about stuff. A lot of head scratching and eye squinting, a lot of wandering around the office looking puzzled. (I’m also shopping for a new desk chair.
